Required from 2nd November 2026 - Maternity cover Year 1 Class Teacher. Are you an inspiring Key Stage 1 teacher who makes a difference every day? We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join our warm and welcoming school community on a maternity cover basis from November 2026. Jennett’s Park CE Primary School is a caring and supportive school with a strong and distinctive Christian ethos. Inspectors recently recognised that “pupils are happy at this inclusive and welcoming school” where “staff care deeply about pupils and know them extremely well”, creating an environment that truly “feels like family.” Our children live out our Rainbow Promise, showing kindness, respect and responsibility every day. It is no surprise that “pupils love coming to school” and that “behaviour is excellent and a strength of the school.”

This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed Key Stage 1 team and play a key role in ensuring that children continue to thrive—building on the “flying start” they receive in the early years and supporting them through this crucial stage of their learning journey.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a clear understanding of effective teaching and learning in Key Stage 1
  • Can create a stimulating, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Is committed to raising standards and ensuring every child succeeds
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management
  • Is reflective, adaptable and eager to develop their practice
  • Works effectively as part of a team and builds strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Shares our values, contributing to a school where “a culture of care sits at the heart” of everything we do

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons for Year 1 pupils
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress
  • Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and community

We can offer you:

  • A supportive and friendly school community with strong relationships at every level
  • Enthusiastic, motivated pupils who are eager to learn and succeed
  • A calm, orderly environment where expectations are high and consistently applied
  • A commitment to your professional development and career progression
  • A school where you can make a genuine difference to children and families
