Holly Spring Primary School is looking to appoint a highly reliable and efficient Attendance Officer with a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing and achievement. Your role will be to provide support to help the school raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality.

The School is a welcoming and inclusive primary school with a strong sense of community. Our school serves a diverse student population and we are proud of the relationships we build with our families and wider community. We are proud of our site which has a forest learning area, extensive playing fields and large spacious classrooms.

As a critical member of our support team you’ll play a vital role in:

  • Improving student attendance: Ensuring our school meets statutory obligations and targets and maintaining the accurate records needed for this.
  • Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality across the school.
  • Identifying patterns of absence and lateness.
  • Supporting attendance meetings and action plans.
  • Driving school improvement: Contributing to the overall success of our school.

Responsibilities include support to raise achievement by improving attendance and punctuality.

To succeed in this role you’ll need:

  • Experience in the role from working in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively, maintaining good attention to detail and working calmly and sensitively under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, being able to respond appropriately to diverse and sometimes challenging situations. Confidence when dealing with parents and external agencies.
  • Technical proficiency: Good IT skills and the ability to use various software applications.

Role details: The role is due to commence as soon as possible. This is a part-time permanent position with some flexibility around the hours open for mutual agreement. The hours are 9:30am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday term time only plus inset days as required.
