We are seeking a dynamic, reliable, and highly effective Technician to support the delivery of Design Technology and Art across Years 7 to 13. In this role, you will play a key part in inspiring and motivating our students, which includes stepping into lessons to demonstrate practical equipment and enhance hands-on learning. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead our Design Technology Club up to two days a week (3:15 pm – 4:00 pm).

This position involves working within a busy and friendly environment, providing support to the Design Technology and Art Department, Teaching staff and our students. The department is well-resourced and each member of staff has their own teaching room and desktop PC. The department has its own Staff Room within the suite of the Art classrooms.

The Design Technology Technician position has a central Office / Prep Room with workshop machinery and tool/material stores, which the successful candidate would be responsible for maintaining and organising, as well as managing materials and tools across 3 Design Technology classrooms and store rooms. The successful candidate would be part of a strong team of ten Teaching staff and two other Technicians each specialising in Food Technology, Art and Photography.

An interest in the Arts, Engineering, Construction and Design would be advantageous and an understanding of workshop equipment preferable, as we deliver GCSE and A level 3D Design using a variety of materials and equipment which our technician will be responsible for. The successful candidate would need to be computer literate, organised, and ultimately keen to be part of a dynamic, exciting Art and Design Technology department.

King’s Academy Easthampstead Park is a vibrant school which prides itself on holding traditional values. We seek to equip all students with the confidence, knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to thrive in the modern world. Through our academic and personal development curricula, we aim to nurture and develop the whole child so that each unique individual grows constantly in confidence, and develops the knowledge, skills and self-esteem to achieve their true potential.

All children at our school access a broad, challenging and engaging curriculum, encouraging learning through well established, research-based quality first teaching. Following our last OFSTED inspection in February 2026, the inspection team noted that "pupils are happy at this welcoming school" and that "staff know pupils well and understand their individual needs." The report captured our inclusive environment, observing that "pupils feel safe in school," that "in lessons and around the school, pupils behave well," and that "pupils embrace one another's differences and understand why equality matters." Crucially, inspectors highlighted that "leaders have high aspirations and expectations of pupils."

We are a motivated school, always seeking to improve, and aspire to provide the very best possible quality of education for all of our students. This is driven by a core belief that all of our students deserve nothing but the best possible teaching and support in order to be happy, healthy and successful. If you feel you have the necessary skills, mindset and determination to join us, we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed.
