We are looking for a Senior Social Worker to join our Assessment team witha specific focus on safeguarding children and young people at risk of exploitation.

You will have a current Social Work England registration and at least three years post qualifying experience within children’s social care that includes child protection, child exploitation and criminal exploitation.

To succeed in this role, you will have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, policies and thresholds.

You will have extensive experience of multi-agency working, working in partnership and co-producing needs led safety plans for children and young people. You will have excellent recording skills and the ability to produce quality assessments and safety plans.

You will role model and champion good social work practice, are able to evidence relevant continued professional development, will support others in sharing your knowledge and experience and contribute to our inclusive culture.

  • To undertake child protection enquiries and single assessments (for children for whom vulnerability to exploitation is an identified factor) and exploitation screening tools for children open to the Assessment team and to support colleagues in the team to do the same.
  • To undertake short programmes of preventative work with children at risk of exploitation whilst subject to assessment.
  • To co-ordinate Return (from Missing) Conversations for children open to the Assessment team. Ensure all records are accurate and updated for reporting purposes.
  • 28 days increasing to 33 days after 3 years’ continuous service.*
