We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registrar on a part-time, permanent basis for 22.5 hours per week to join our Registration Service Team. At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. About you
As a Registrar, you will undertake a wide range of duties to support the smooth running of the department and provide cover for colleagues when needed. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering a high-quality, customer-focused frontline service - whether by phone, email, or in person. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure is essential. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is vital in your day-to-day responsibilities. You will be a team player with strong collaborative and organisational skills, confident using IT systems, and capable of recording information accurately while identifying and questioning any anomalies. There will also be opportunities to work additional hours on weekends, on a rota basis, to conduct a variety of ceremonies. Additional payments will be made for these duties.
About the team
We are a small, vibrant and forward-thinking team, that provides both the statutory and non-statutory services of all aspects of registration. We are based primarily at Time Square, but travel to all our licenced venues within Bracknell Forest to conduct ceremonies.
Key responsibilities
This role places you at the heart of significant life events, including registering births, deaths, and marriages, as well as conducting ceremonies across the borough. These are in line with the requirements set out in legislation and good practice. You will be responsible for the delivery of all statutory and non-statutory services. You will work with the wider registration services team to develop and promote the registration service to maximise growth and income.
