About you
- Level 5 Diploma in Teaching with a specialist pathway in Mathematics (Numeracy) or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting learners in a secondary or post-16 setting and proven knowledge of Maths Functional Skills programmes.
- Daytime availability for teaching is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Focus on Maths and plan lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of the students while covering content required to sit the appropriate Functional Skills exam.
- Use creative planning approaches to make learning relevant to real-life contexts that interest and engage the students.
- Plan activities to build confidence, resilience and persistence within sessions, preparing students for less intensive support and creating opportunities for socialisation and collaboration between individuals in lessons, eventually preparing them for larger classes.
- Undertake diagnostic assessments, write reports, set appropriate initial FS objectives and support the students to achieve.
- Record, track and report on individual learner’s progress and provide information for PEPs and EHCP Annual Review meetings.
