We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wrexham to assist with the appointment of an ISRO - Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £37.00 - £50.02 per hour

Summary:

To undertake the statutory functions of an Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer, providing independent oversight, challenge and professional scrutiny of safeguarding practice relating to children in need of protection and children looked after.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake the statutory functions of an Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer.
• Maintain independence from the line management arrangements of the cases being reviewed.
• Monitor and scrutinise decisions made by social workers and managers concerning children subject to safeguarding arrangements and children looked after.
• Identify and challenge poor or inconsistent practice where the interests and welfare of the child are not being adequately promoted.

Qualifications

• Recognised professional qualification in Social Work.
• Current registration with the relevant professional social care regulator.
• Relevant post-qualifying qualification in childcare, child protection or safeguarding, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Essentials

• Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children's social care.
• Extensive experience of child protection and safeguarding practice.
• Experience working with children in need of protection and children looked after.

• You should have right to work in U.K
• This role requires an Enhanced DBS
