Overview
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Waste Enforcement Officer, on a 12-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clientβs discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: Β£13.47 – Β£17.46 per hour
Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce waste regulations across facilities and the local environment.
- Carry out inspections and investigations into waste-related complaints.
- Issue enforcement notices, fixed penalty notices, and prepare evidence for legal proceedings where required.
- Work with residents, businesses, and contractors to improve compliance and reduce environmental offences.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on enforcement activities.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in waste services, environmental enforcement, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of waste legislation, environmental regulations, and enforcement procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills when dealing with the public and stakeholders.
- Ability to investigate complaints and prepare accurate evidence and reports.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
