We are working closely with local authority in Walsall to assist with the appointment of a Senior Planning Officer, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £34.94- £44.24 per hour.

The Senior Planning Officer – Enforcement is responsible for delivering effective planning enforcement services, ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements. The role supports the investigation, management, and resolution of planning enforcement cases, including historic backlog matters and priority enforcement actions.

Responsibilities:
  • Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and assess cases in accordance with planning legislation, local policy, and enforcement priorities.
  • Prepare reports, evidence, witness statements, and supporting documentation for hearings, inquiries, and legal proceedings.
  • Manage and respond to planning enforcement appeals, preparing submissions and supporting evidence for appeal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with planning legislation, local authority governance, health and safety, and data management requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Planning or a related discipline.
Essentials:
  • Professional knowledge of UK planning legislation, planning enforcement procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Significant experience in planning enforcement within a local authority or similar regulatory environment.
  • Proven experience drafting enforcement notices and formal planning documentation.
  • Experience managing planning enforcement appeals and supporting appeal processes.
