Summary

Manage a caseload of households ready to move out of temporary accommodation into settled housing. Identify suitable accommodation options, address barriers to rehousing, and facilitate successful moves into permanent accommodation. The role is essential in reducing the length of stay in temporary accommodation and ensuring efficient use of available housing resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of households ready to move on from temporary accommodation into settled housing.
  • Assess housing needs and update housing assessments and supporting documentation as required.
  • Identify and match households to suitable accommodation, including private rented sector properties, social housing, supported housing, and other settled accommodation options.
  • Work closely with Lettings Negotiators to ensure properties are allocated efficiently and remain occupied.
  • Establish and understand households' rehousing and resettlement needs, including affordability, location requirements, and support needs.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies, including Social Care, healthcare professionals, and support providers, to facilitate successful housing outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience working within housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation, tenancy sustainment, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness duties, and housing allocation processes.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and supporting vulnerable individuals or families.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and partner agencies.

Additional Requirements

  • Immediately available to work or at short notice.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
