We are working closely with a local authority in Telford and Wrekin to assist with the appointment of an Estates and Investments Senior Surveyor, on a 6-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £24.00- £31.70 per hour
Summary:
Telford and Wrekin Council is seeking an experienced Estates and Investments Senior Surveyor to lead the strategic management of the Council's Property Investment Portfolio (PIP). The postholder will be responsible for maximising revenue income, minimising expenditure, delivering capital receipts through asset disposals, and supporting regeneration initiatives across the Borough. The role requires providing expert professional advice on complex property matters, leading major property investment and development projects, undertaking high-level valuations and negotiations, and managing the acquisition, disposal, and development of Council-owned land and buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Council's Property Investment Portfolio (PIP), ensuring assets are efficiently managed to maximise rental income and minimise operational expenditure.
- Lead property-related regeneration projects that contribute to housing growth, employment opportunities, and economic development.
- Undertake complex valuations of land and property in accordance with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) professional standards.
- Lead complex negotiations with developers, investors, landowners, tenants, public bodies, and private sector organisations.
- Contribute to service development, continuous improvement, and innovation within the property function.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Estate Management, Surveying, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related discipline.
Essentials:
- Significant experience managing commercial and public sector property portfolios.
- Experience managing acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant matters, and property investment.
- Experience undertaking complex property valuations in accordance with RICS standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of property law, landlord and tenant legislation, and commercial property practice.
- Understanding of procurement, governance, and public sector financial management.
