Summary: We are seeking an experienced Service Manager – Quality Assurance to lead and oversee quality assurance activity within Children's Social Care. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving practice improvement, ensuring high standards of service delivery, and supporting inspection readiness. This role will lead audit activity, identify learning opportunities, and work collaboratively with managers and practitioners to embed continuous improvement across the service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance function within Children's Social Care.
- Oversee monthly practice audits, thematic audits, and other quality assurance activities.
- Analyse audit findings to identify strengths, areas for development, and emerging risks.
- Facilitate learning forums and feedback sessions to ensure learning is embedded into practice.
- Monitor the implementation and impact of improvement actions arising from audits and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Essentials:
- Significant experience within Children's Social Care, including management experience.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance frameworks, audit processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience undertaking, managing, or reviewing practice audits and quality assurance activities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice standards.
- Experience preparing services for Ofsted inspections and regulatory reviews.
