We are working closely with a local authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Participation and Access to Records Worker, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. The Participation and Access to Records Worker plays a vital role in supporting adults who have previously received Children's Social Care services, including Care Experienced individuals, to access their social care records in a timely, supportive, and trauma-informed manner. The role will also contribute to the Council's Participation Agenda by developing and supporting Voice Ambassadors, ensuring the lived experiences of children, young people, adults, and families influence service design, delivery, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for adults requesting access to their Children's Social Care records.
  • Develop and coordinate a Voice Ambassador programme across Children's Services.
  • Ensure children, young people, adults, and families have meaningful opportunities to influence service improvement and decision-making.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance ambassador skills and confidence.
  • Support the preparation and disclosure of information in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the Participation Team at meetings, forums, and events as required.
Qualifications:
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
Essentials:
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children, young people, adults, or families within social care, education, health, community, or voluntary sector settings.
  • Experience working directly with service users in a supportive or advocacy-based role.
  • Experience coordinating activities, projects, consultations, or participation initiatives.
  • Understanding of Children's Social Care and the experiences of care-experienced individuals.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and responsibilities relating to children and vulnerable adults.

Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at short notice. You should have the right to work in the U.K. This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
