We are working closely with the local authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Fly Tipping Rapid Response Operative on a 5.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: The Fly Tipping Rapid Response Operative is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of public spaces across the borough. The role involves responding quickly to incidents of fly tipping, littering, graffiti, and environmental hazards while ensuring high standards of environmental cleanliness are achieved and maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to incidents of fly tipping, littering, graffiti, and environmental hazards across the borough.
- Carry out sweeping, litter collection, leaf clearance, bin emptying, and removal of waste from roads, pavements, shopping areas, public spaces, and council buildings.
- Safely dispose of hypodermic needles and remove dead animals in accordance with training and procedures.
- Drive and take responsibility for allocated vehicles, including daily vehicle checks, cleaning, and reporting maintenance requirements.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essentials:
- GCSEs or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics desirable.
- Knowledge of environmental cleansing and waste management procedures.
- Previous experience in street cleansing, environmental services, waste management, facilities, or similar operational roles is desirable.
- Experience driving work vehicles and operating equipment in a public environment preferred.
- Full UK Driving Licence essential.
- Training in manual handling, hazardous waste handling, or environmental cleansing is advantageous.
