We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Strategic Asset Manager on a 5.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 322.67 - 448.00 per day
Summary: The Strategic Asset Manager will play a key role within the Councils Asset Management team responsible for the strategic and operational management of a defined part of the Councils property portfolio. The post holder will ensure that assets are effectively utilised, deliver value for money and support corporate priorities. This includes leading on landlord and tenant matters, property transactions, valuations, acquisitions, disposals and contributing to the development and implementation of asset strategies. The role requires a professionally qualified surveyor with RICS membership (MRICS or FRICS) and experience in complex property and asset management environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic and day-to-day management of a portfolio of council property assets.
- Develop short, medium and long‐term asset management strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
- Manage a wide range of landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals, rent reviews, assignments, variations and licences.
- Lead and support acquisition and disposal processes to achieve best consideration and meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, financial regulations, RICS standards and council policies.
- Maintain accurate asset data and contribute to performance monitoring and planning.
Requirements:
- MRICS or FRICS (General Practice / Commercial Property pathway)
- Strong knowledge of landlord & tenant law, valuation principles, property management and estates casework.
- Experience leading acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease negotiations and development appraisals.
