We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Solicitor , on a 3-month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.86 – £18.45 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • To specialise in Criminal and Civil Litigation Law.
  • To participate in the provision of a comprehensive legal service to the Council and other client departments as may be required.
  • To deal with all work efficiently and cost-effectively; achieving the purposes of the customer in each case.
  • To provide expert advice and make decisions on litigation legal matters and on the management of risk on contentious legal issues.
  • To undertake advocacy in all relevant court and tribunal cases including contested hearings on behalf of the Council.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Local Government law in addition to specialist knowledge in Litigation.
  • Specialist knowledge in Civil and Criminal Litigation Law.
  • Post qualification legal experience in Local Government Law and in all areas of Litigation with significant experience in case management.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
  • This role requires a basic DBS .
