Job Opportunity: Senior Finance Assistant – Debt Recovery

We are collaborating with a Local Authority in West Sussex to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant – Debt Recovery on a 10-month contract . The contract is highly likely to be extended at the client\’s discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.69 – £17.72 per Hour

Summary

This role involves Debt Recovery within the Accounts Receivable team, primarily focusing on executing core debt recovery processes to ensure efficient recovery. The post holder will deliver a high level of administrative support, serving as a reliable, efficient, and effective service provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist financial support to the team, with a solid understanding of the service\’s objectives and requirements.
• Organize workload and plan work over months in coordination with others to meet service goals and deliver customer-focused support.
• Analyze and interpret complex technical financial information related to the team\’s specialism and draw conclusions to inform actions.
• Generate performance data, financial statistics, and management information by manipulating both manual and computerized data to support reports for clients and managers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, both manual and computerized, related to the service.

Qualifications

• Four GCSEs grades A-C, including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications/experience demonstrating numeracy and literacy skills.
• Part-qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) at intermediate level NVQ 3 or studying towards an equivalent qualification, or possess demonstrable technical and theoretical accountancy knowledge at this level.

Experience and Knowledge

• Experience working in a customer-oriented environment.
• Good understanding of office systems and finance practices, usually demonstrated through relevant financial environment experience.
• Experience providing specialist advice to managers or customers, including explaining complex financial or technical information.

Additional Notes

• Availability to start immediately or on short notice is preferred.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
