We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Senior Environmental Protection Officer, on a 6‑month contract, likely to be extended at client discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: A Senior Environmental Protection Officer is required to manage nuisance‑related casework, carry out inspections, and support enforcement activities. The role involves working closely with residents, businesses and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and maintain community wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Investigate complaints related to noise, nuisance, and environmental issues
- Carry out site visits, inspections, and enforcement actions
- Manage a caseload of complex Environmental Protection cases
- Provide expert advice to residents, businesses, and stakeholders
- Prepare reports, legal documents and evidence for court if required
- Support service improvements and mentor junior staff
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or related field
- Registration with relevant professional body (desirable)
Essential Requirements
- Experience in Environmental Protection / enforcement work
- Relevant qualification in Environmental Health, Acoustics or similar
- Strong knowledge of legislation and compliance processes
- Ability to manage workload independently
- Valid driving licence (for site visits)
