We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Project Support Officer , on a 8-month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary:
West Sussex County Council (WSCC) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Support Officer to join its Digital Infrastructure Team. This role provides vital day-to-day support across digital connectivity projects, working at the interface between local/central government and commercial telecommunications. The successful candidate will contribute to the countys goal of delivering gigabit-capable digital infrastructure, supporting economic growth and community resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Support all Project Managers with project governance, documentation, data coordination and change control.
- Create reports such as RAG status, budget summaries, risk registers, and issues logs.
- Monitor project budgets using financial systems; track spend and provide data for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with WSCC project management frameworks and assist in the development of new systems or tools.
- Manage smaller related projects under the guidance of Project Managers
Qualifications / Experience
- HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience in a relevant area.
- Experience working within a project support function or project team.
- Experience handling multiple live projects in a fast-paced environment.
Essentials:
- Strong understanding of project management procedures and documentation standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
- Knowledge/experience using MS Project.
