We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Programme Manager, on a 4-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.
Rate of Pay: Β£25.06 - Β£31.78 per hour
Summary:
The Programme Manager will provide strong programme leadership, establish effective governance, maintain delivery momentum and ensure the programme remains on track. This is a hands-on delivery leadership role, requiring the ability to manage complex dependencies, challenge progress, proactively address risks and provide clear recommendations to senior decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective programme governance, controls, reporting and decision-making processes.
- Develop and manage an integrated programme plan, including milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and critical path activities.
- Lead cross-functional project and workstream groups across operational, technical, legal, commercial, financial and workforce areas.
- Drive delivery against key milestones, proactively managing risks, dependencies and programme slippage.
- Implement corrective actions where required to maintain delivery momentum.
- Provide clear programme reporting, assurance and recommendations to senior leaders.
Essentials:
- Significant senior-level programme management experience.
- Proven experience delivering complex transformation, mobilisation or service transition programmes.
- Experience working within local government, transport, infrastructure or similarly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of programme governance, assurance, risk management, planning and delivery controls.
- Experience leading Programme Boards, workstreams and cross-functional delivery teams.
