We are working closely alongside a local authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Population Health Management Analyst on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay £23.03-£30.37 per hour.

The Population Health Management Analyst will act as a crucial link between public health intelligence and NHS data-led service planning. The primary purpose is to design, target, and evaluate interventions using existing and future linked datasets. You will deliver actionable intelligence including segmentation, forecasting, and equity audits to reduce health inequalities, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall patient experience for the local population. The role requires strong technical skills in data analysis (SQL, R/Python), knowledge of PHM methodologies (e.g., risk stratification), and the ability to clearly communicate complex findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and alignment of Population Health Management (PHM) methodology with local, regional, and national priorities.
  • Ensure PHM intelligence and analysis is aligned with Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) priorities, NHS planning, and Integrated Care System (ICS) strategies.
  • Deliver core analytical projects including population segmentation, equity audits, and intelligence to support service redesign.
  • Provide specialist analytical and epidemiological advice to public health, ICB partners, and service leads, contributing to key workstreams (e.g., frailty, long-term conditions).
  • Ensure rigorous data governance, confidentiality, and compliance with Information Governance (IG) standards across all council and ICB datasets.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of PHM methods, including risk stratification, impactability modelling, and equity analysis.

Essentials:

  • Specialist knowledge and experience of public health statistical techniques and procedures, acquired through an undergraduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of public health intelligence and analysis principles.
  • Expertise in managing data confidentiality and Information Governance (IG) standards.
  • Strong applied data analysis skills using key programming languages and tools, specifically SQL, R/Python.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a numerate or data/computer science subject, or public health.
  • Experience in a health intelligence or related analytical role, ideally within a health or public sector setting.
