We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Service Manager, on a 4-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £355.46 - £470.15 per day

Summary: A senior leadership role responsible for leading and developing the Front Door service within Children's Social Care. The role focuses on ensuring timely, high-quality responses to contacts, referrals, and safeguarding concerns, so children receive the right support at the right time. You will drive service improvement, strengthen practice standards, and lead a multi-agency team within a MASH environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Front Door (MASH) service during a period of transformation
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to referrals and safeguarding concerns
  • Oversee decision-making and risk management, including Section 17 and Section 47 interventions
  • Drive improvements in practice standards, performance, and service delivery
  • Lead, support, and develop staff through reflective supervision and performance management

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Registered with Social Work England

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Front Door / MASH or safeguarding services
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams within Children's Social Care
  • Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Experience managing complex safeguarding cases and decision-making processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive service improvement and manage change

Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at short notice. You should have the right to work in the U.K. This role requires a Basic DBS.
