Job Description:
We are working closely with Nottingham Community Housing Association to assist with the appointment of a Payroll Officer, on a 13-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.81 - £19.46 per hour
Summary:
A Payroll Officer is required to administer and maintain payroll and pension systems and records, ensuring accurate and timely processing in line with statutory requirements and organisational procedures. The role will manage payroll control accounts, reconciliations, statutory payments, expenses and absence-related processes, as well as supporting payroll reporting, year-end procedures and financial accounts.
The successful candidate will also handle complex payroll queries, analyse payroll and financial data, support audits and contribute to system and operational improvements. Familiarity with iTrent is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain payroll and pension systems and records.
- Process colleague expenses, statutory payments and absence-related payroll procedures.
- Operate and reconcile payroll control accounts, including net pay and pension accounts.
- Ensure payroll transactions and records are complete, accurate and up to date.
- Identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action.
Essentials:
- Proven experience in payroll administration and processing.
- Good knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory payments and pension processes.
- Experience maintaining accurate payroll records and completing payroll reconciliations.
- Experience working with payroll and financial systems; iTrent experience is preferred.
- Strong numerical, analytical and data-handling skills.
