We are working closely with local authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Heating Engineer on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: The Heating Engineer provides operational housing maintenance services to support the continuing improvement, safety, and compliance of the Council's housing stock and corporate properties. Working under the direction of the designated Repairs Officer, the post holder undertakes a wide range of heating, gas servicing, installation, maintenance, and repair works in accordance with work orders, statutory regulations, and Council policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out heating and gas maintenance, servicing, repair, testing, and installation works in accordance with work order specifications and operational requirements.
  • Diagnose faults, repair, install, maintain, and test domestic heating systems, gas appliances, and associated equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Work individually or collaboratively with colleagues to complete maintenance and repair tasks in accordance with Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (RAMS/SSOW).
  • Ensure all works are completed to agreed schedules, specifications, performance standards, and schedule of rates.
  • Travel to Council properties and operational sites as required to undertake maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current Gas Safe Registration.

Essentials:

  • Full valid UK driving licence with willingness to travel to operational sites.
  • Proven experience in heating engineering, gas servicing, maintenance, installations, and repairs within housing maintenance, property maintenance, or similar operational environments.
  • Experience working in compliance with Gas Safety regulations, safe systems of work, and industry standards.
