We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Commercial Manager, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £349.00 - £441.79 per day
Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management of construction projects from tender stage through to final account. The role will focus on ensuring projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with contractual and financial requirements while supporting the ongoing development of the commercial function.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction to completion
- Develop and implement effective commercial management systems and processes
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and financial reporting
- Monitor cash flow, valuations, payments, variations, and final accounts
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Administer construction contracts including JCT and NEC
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or related field
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry
- Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC construction contracts
- Excellent commercial, contractual, and financial management skills
- Experience managing multiple or large-scale construction projects
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
