We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Monmouthshire to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: The Grounds Operative will support the delivery of safe, clean, and sustainable public environments across Monmouthshire. Duties will mainly involve grounds maintenance activities across public open spaces, verges, planting areas, schools, and contracted sites, while also supporting street services operations when required.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out grounds maintenance duties across public open spaces, verges, schools, and contracted sites.
- Operate individually or as part of a team to maintain green and sustainable environments.
- Support street services operations including litter picking, fly-tipping response, and environmental maintenance activities.
- Maintain safe working practices in line with Health & Safety legislation and Council policies.
- Undertake duties in a professional, polite, and orderly manner.
- Participate in emergency response duties including flooding, snow clearance, and storm response when required.
Essentials:
- Full clean UK Driving Licence is essential.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible approach to working hours and seasonal working patterns.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in emergency and standby rotas.
