Summary: Southern Housing is looking for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join its Direct Services Team. This role is responsible for delivering a responsive surveying service, ensuring Southern Housing's properties are maintained to the highest standards while meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will oversee responsive repairs, inspect works, identify building defects, manage contractors, and ensure residents receive an excellent customer-focused service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage responsive repairs through pre, mid and post inspections.
- Carry out site inspections and ensure works are completed to the required quality and safety standards.
- Identify building defects and prepare detailed specifications for remedial works.
- Produce technical reports and recommendations for repairs.
- Obtain quotations and estimates in line with procurement procedures.
Essentials:
- Experience working as a Building Surveyor or Maintenance Surveyor in a responsive repairs or maintenance environment.
- Experience carrying out pre, mid and post inspections.
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, Construction methods and materials, and Building defects and remedial solutions.
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing repair works.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
