We are working closely alongside the Financial Ombudsman Service to assist with the appointment of a L&D Consultant on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £58.26 - £79.00 per hour.
Summary: The Financial Ombudsman Service is seeking a strategic L&D Consultant to spearhead the design of an enterprise-wide learning strategy focused on AI and data capability uplift. As the organization begins its journey into data and AI literacy, this role will create a strategic blueprint to ensure the workforce remains effective, efficient, and future-ready. The consultant will focus exclusively on the strategic framework—defining how to raise foundational literacy, building targeted learning pathways, and developing technical programs—while operational delivery will be handled by the internal team.
Responsibilities:
- Create a coherent, organization-wide strategy that builds confidence and responsible use of AI and data.
- Design a multi-tiered framework (foundation, intermediate, and advanced) aligned with future organizational needs.
- Define and recommend learning solutions covering AI basics, data concepts, ethics, and practical workplace applications.
- Partner with departments like casework, HR, finance, and IT to create tailored learning interventions and simulations.
- Identify certification routes and recommend how apprenticeship levy funding can support accredited, structured learning.
- Identify success measures, KPIs, and milestones to track and report on capability uplift.
Essentials:
- Extensive experience in senior-level L&D strategy, organizational development, or talent management.
- The candidate must demonstrate extensive senior-level experience in L&D and organizational development within a strategic context.
- Significant experience designing enterprise-level digital, data, or AI capability strategies.
- A strong understanding of AI fundamentals, data literacy, and the responsible/ethical use of AI.
- Proven ability to provide high-quality strategic advice and influence senior stakeholders.
