We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of an Engagement Officer, on a 6.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: Β£174.28 - Β£229.49 per day
Summary:
The Highways Engagement Officer will provide practical delivery support for a high-volume programme of priority highways projects requiring extensive community and stakeholder engagement. The role involves working closely with Highways project teams, Communications and Engagement colleagues, elected Members, residents, businesses, schools, community organisations and other stakeholders to ensure engagement activity is timely, inclusive, accessible, well organised and accurately recorded.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain stakeholder maps, contact records, engagement plans, schedules and activity trackers for assigned highways schemes.
- Identify residents, businesses, schools, community organisations, transport users, elected Members and other groups affected by or interested in each scheme.
- Coordinate and deliver agreed stakeholder engagement activities across multiple priority highways projects.
- Organise engagement activities in line with project milestones, agreed plans and deadlines.
- Liaise with Highways and Communications and Engagement teams to ensure information provided to stakeholders is accurate, consistent, accessible and timely.
- Monitor progress against engagement plans and identify and escalate delivery risks or delays.
Qualification:
- Good standard of education, including strong literacy and numeracy skills, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to the role.
Essentials:
- Experience of supporting or delivering stakeholder, community, customer or public engagement activity.
- Experience of coordinating public-facing events, meetings, workshops, drop-ins or similar activities.
- Experience of managing a busy workload involving several concurrent tasks, projects or deadlines.
- Experience of logging, coordinating and responding to enquiries from customers or stakeholders.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records, trackers or databases and using information to produce reports or summaries.
