Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Health and Wellbeing Development Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.11 - £20.76 per hour
Summary:
A Health and Well-being Development Officer is required to design, deliver and evaluate targeted health and wellbeing initiatives that help individuals overcome barriers to employment and improve their overall quality of life. The role will provide personalised one-to-one and group support covering areas such as mental resilience, physical activity, nutrition, stress management, sleep and social wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work closely with community, clinical and employment support partners, including GPs, mental health services, housing teams and recovery services. They will assess individual needs, develop tailored action plans, monitor progress and contribute to multi-agency interventions aimed at improving health and employment outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver health and wellbeing programmes for individuals and community groups.
- Conduct initial and ongoing health and wellbeing assessments to identify needs, barriers and appropriate interventions.
- Provide one-to-one and group support covering mental resilience, physical activity, nutrition, stress management, sleep and social wellbeing.
- Develop personalised action plans with measurable health and employment-related goals.
- Monitor participant progress and carry out regular reviews to assess outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Community Regeneration, Youth Work, Wellbeing, Sport, Fitness or Coaching.
- GCSEs in Maths and English.
Essentials:
- Experience providing one-to-one support to individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Experience working with client groups such as benefit claimants, people experiencing mental health challenges, young people, people with disabilities or other vulnerable groups.
- Experience in health sciences, public health, social work, health promotion, wellness coaching or a related field.
- Experience delivering training, employability programmes or confidence-building interventions.
- Experience managing databases and maintaining accurate monitoring and recording systems.

- This role requires a Basic DBS
