We are working closely alongside a local authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a Recruitment Officer on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £16.50 - £21.70 per hour.

Summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly motivated and agile Recruitment Officer to join our fast-paced HR team. This is a critical "end-to-end" role, requiring a unique blend of recruitment expertise and administrative precision. You will manage a personal caseload of vacancies, acting as a strategic partner to hiring managers while ensuring all pre-employment compliance is met.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from advising on engaging advert copy and selection methods to issuing final contracts of employment.
  • Facilitate and verify all pre-appointment checks, including Right to Work documentation, references, medical screening, and processing DBS applications.
  • Provide expert guidance to managers on Council policies, employment legislation, and HR best practices to ensure fair and effective hiring.
  • Represent the Council at job fairs, schools, and universities to promote Liverpool City Council as an employer of choice.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to support colleagues during high-volume periods, ensuring all departmental deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • HR/Recruitment qualification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent relevant experience in talent acquisition.

Essentials

  • Proven experience in an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Essential experience using Tribepad to manage candidate flow and recruitment stages.
  • Demonstrable experience handling complex pre-employment checks and understanding the vetting and barring process.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strict attention to detail.
