We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lincolnshire to assist with the appointment of a Practice Supervisor, on a 4-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: As a Practice Supervisor for the Spalding FAST team, you will lead and support a dedicated frontline unit of six qualified social workers. This role is pivotal in ensuring that children and families in our diverse, rural community receive high-quality, timely, and impactful interventions. You will be responsible for the clinical and professional oversight of complex caseloads, including assessments, child protection planning, and court proceedings. We are looking for a resilient, approachable, and experienced leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a primary focus on staff wellbeing and the safety of the children we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Critically review and sign off on child and family assessments, court reports, and intervention plans to ensure they meet statutory requirements and the high standards of Lincolnshire County Council.
- Lead the duty desk on a 1-in-3 week rotation, screening all incoming referrals and making decisive allocation choices based on risk and capacity.
- Chair strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings, ensuring that child protection and 'Child in Need' plans are progressed without delay.
- Offer consistent availability and emotional support to the team, ensuring practitioners remain safe, motivated, and well-equipped to handle the challenges of rural social work.
Qualifications:
- A recognized degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, DipSW, or equivalent).
Essentials:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or senior practitioner role within a statutory children's social care setting.
- Deep knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Public Law Outline (PLO) process.
- Current and valid registration with Social Work England.
- Given the rural nature of the Spalding area, a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
