We are working closely with local authority in Charnwood to assist with the appointment of an Electrician, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: The Electrician is responsible for delivering a comprehensive electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, inspection, and installation service across the Council's housing stock and corporate properties. The role supports the Repairs Team Leaders in achieving high-quality, customer-focused maintenance services that meet statutory, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake all electrical works in accordance with current IET/IEE Wiring Regulations, Building Regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Support the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance programmes, void property works, and compliance services.
- Maintain effective communication with tenants regarding repairs, appointments, and property-related issues.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety legislation, Council policies, industry regulations, and safe systems of work.
- Ensure materials, stock, and waste are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with Council procedures.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing).
- City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Portable Appliance Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent).
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification.
Essentials:
- Experience carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection work.
- Experience working within domestic housing maintenance, social housing, local authority, or property maintenance environments.
- Experience diagnosing electrical faults and implementing effective repair solutions.
- Experience using digital job management systems, handheld devices, or mobile workforce technology.
Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at short notice. You should have the right to work in the U.K. This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
