We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Redbridge to assist with the appointment of a Committee Services Manager, on a 6.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £225.18 - £299.00 per day

Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Committee Services Manager to lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality democratic and committee services within the Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective governance, supporting decision-making processes, and delivering efficient administrative support to committees, panels, boards, and working groups. This role will play a key part in maintaining transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement across committee services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Committee Services Team to deliver high-quality governance and democratic support
  • Oversee support for Council, Cabinet, committees, panels, boards, and working groups
  • Ensure all decision-making processes comply with statutory requirements and the Council's Constitution
  • Provide advice and guidance to officers and elected Members on governance, decision-making, and the Scheme of Delegations
  • Support and develop elected Members in carrying out their governance responsibilities

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience within committee services, democratic services, or local government governance
  • Strong knowledge of local authority decision-making processes and constitutional requirements
  • Experience supporting committees, Cabinet meetings, and elected Members
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
