We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of a Finance Manager , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £284.70 – £385.81 per Day
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical financial advice, briefing papers, and training tailored to diverse audiences.
- Offer financial and commercial insights on high-profile projects, programs, and capital initiatives.
- Support the closure of accounts, ensuring accurate income and expenditure reporting, reconciliation of balance sheet items, and completion of reserve drawdowns and accruals.
- Assist service and budget managers in budget development and monthly financial monitoring.
- Analyze, prepare, and review key commercial documents, including project agreements, payment mechanisms, and procurement tenders.
Qualifications:
- Full CCAB/CIMA qualification (or overseas equivalent) with relevant financial management experience.
- Strong understanding of the financial challenges facing local authorities.
Experience:
- Experience in strategic financial planning and budget-setting techniques.
- Proven experience as a finance business partner within local government.
- Strong knowledge of financial monitoring of capital projects.
- Ability to manage a significant organizational function or service within a large, multi-disciplined organization with comparable scope, budgets, and resources.
- Experience providing financial support to council services, including waste collection, public conveniences, parks, and climate/environmental initiatives.
