We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in City of Westminster to assist with the appointment of an Environmental Health Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: Westminster City Council is seeking two experienced Environmental Health Officers to join the Environmental Health Consultation Team. The role focuses on a targeted project inspecting high-risk special treatment premises, specifically those providing laser and IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments, to ensure compliance with health and safety and hygiene regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out health and safety inspections of licensed premises offering laser and IPL treatments
- Assess compliance with hygiene standards, machinery safety, operational procedures, and documentation
- Identify non-compliance and take proportionate enforcement action in line with council policies
- Provide professional advice and guidance to businesses to improve safety standards
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain evidence for enforcement proceedings
- Escalate risks appropriately and contribute to protecting public health
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
Essentials:
- Proven experience in local authority health and safety enforcement
- Knowledge of massage and special treatment premises regulations
- Ability to work independently within the community
- Strong risk assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
