Job Description:
We are working closely with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a Waste Disposal Operative, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.18 - £17.04 per hour
Summary:
Southern Housing is seeking a Waste Disposal Operative – Manual Labour to carry out bulk waste collection, general waste clearance and void property clearance across its estates and neighbourhoods. The role involves maintaining clean, safe and tidy communal areas, supporting residents and ensuring waste is collected efficiently and in line with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Drive to designated estates and collect non-domestic refuse in line with agreed schedules and service standards.
- Carry out bulk waste collection, general waste clearance and void property clearance.
- Ensure collection areas are left clean and tidy, clearing any spillages while on-site.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with residents, manage expectations and provide basic advice when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to waste collection and clearance.
- Experience undertaking bulk waste collection, general waste clearance and void property clearance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, external agencies and resident organisations.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under instruction.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Standard DBS
