We are working closely with local authority in Coventry to assist with the appointment of a Waste Data Officer, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.32- £19.05 per hour
The Waste Data Officer is responsible for providing high-quality data management, reporting, and analytical support to Waste Services, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of waste performance data. The role supports operational and financial decision-making by reviewing and maintaining waste tonnage calculations, mapping data flows, producing accurate forecasts, and developing robust documentation of existing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review, document, and improve existing waste tonnage calculation processes and methodologies.
- Map and analyse waste data flows across multiple operational systems and external waste disposal facilities.
- Support the production of recharge information and financial models relating to waste disposal and recycling operations.
- Produce documentation, process maps, guidance notes, and standard operating procedures to support consistent data management.
- Prepare statutory waste returns and performance reports, including submissions to Waste Data Flow and other regulatory bodies where required.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English.
Essentials:
- Experience analysing and manipulating large datasets using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Experience producing accurate reports, forecasts, and management information.
- Experience investigating data discrepancies and ensuring data quality.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, complex formulas, Power Query, and data validation.
- Understanding of Waste Data Flow reporting and environmental reporting requirements.
