We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Coventry to assist with the appointment of an Elective Home Education Co-ordinator, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Summary: We are looking for an experienced Elective Home Education (EHE) Co-ordinator to lead the monitoring and coordination of Elective Home Education cases, ensuring children receive a suitable education in line with statutory requirements. You will work closely with families, schools, and partner agencies, providing advice, managing complex cases, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified and acted upon.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage Elective Home Education (EHE) cases, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to families, schools, and partner agencies on EHE processes and legislation.
  • Manage referrals, support school placements where appropriate, and work alongside SEND colleagues on EHCP cases.
  • Produce reports, analyse trends, and maintain EHE data using Capita/ICT systems.
  • Identify, escalate, and respond to safeguarding concerns while working collaboratively with education, health, and other agencies.

Essentials:

  • Significant experience working within an education setting.
  • Experience managing complex cases involving children and families.
  • Knowledge of Elective Home Education legislation, school attendance, exclusions, SEND, and the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Knowledge of Local Authority duties relating to Children Missing Education.
  • Understanding of suitable education provision for home-educated children.
  • Experience providing specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and case management skills.
