We are working closely with local authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the high quality of public outdoor spaces across Carmarthenshire, including parks, schools, playing fields, and landscaped areas. As a Grounds Operative, you will ensure these spaces are safe, aesthetically pleasing, and functional by utilizing allocated resources efficiently and achieving departmental service objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and maintaining sports areas according to approved specifications.
- Maintain the cleanliness of public buildings, such as changing rooms and toilets, as well as general park and playground areas.
- Safely operate handheld and powered vibrating tools, light plant machinery, and tractors with mounted equipment.
- Adhere to the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and departmental safety policies at all times.
- Work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for directing the work of trainees or other assigned employees.
Essentials:
- Proven experience in gardening or grounds person duties.
- Understanding of COSHH regulations, Health and Safety legislation, and safe working practices.
- Experience working with hand tools, powered vibrating machinery, and light plant.
- Full UK valid driver's license.
