We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthen to assist with the appointment of a Customer Services Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.69 - £17.73 per hour

Summary: The Customer Services Officer will act as an effective link between customers and Council departments, providing professional support across telephone, face-to-face, digital and social media channels. The role will promote online services while ensuring customers who require additional assistance receive accurate information and appropriate support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and efficient customer service across telephone, face-to-face, digital and social media channels.
  • Promote the Council's online services and encourage customers to use digital channels wherever possible.
  • Provide accurate information and assistance where online services cannot be used.
  • Assist customers with service requests, applications, forms, statements, amendments and updates.
  • Deal with enquiries relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits, Housing Repairs, Homelessness, Debt Recovery, Blue Badge applications, Licensing, Refuse and Recycling and Public Protection.
  • Take ownership of customer enquiries and aim to resolve them at the first point of contact wherever possible.

Essentials:

  • Excellent keyboard and IT skills, with familiarity using a range of IT applications.
  • Ability to work accurately in a busy customer service environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A caring and customer-focused approach.
  • Experience recognising and responding positively to customer needs.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer care.
