Summary: The Cleansing Operative will carry out street cleansing operations across Somerset to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, undertaking a range of cleansing duties with minimal disruption to customers while ensuring high standards of health, safety, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out street cleansing operations across Somerset.
- Undertake litter picking, hand sweeping, bin emptying, fly-tip removal, and public toilet cleaning.
- Support the delivery of a clean and safe public environment.
- Drive non-LGV vehicles and operate machinery as required.
- Complete daily vehicle and equipment checks and report any defects.
- Carry out basic vehicle and equipment maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, bulbs, and cleanliness.
Essentials:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
