The predicted salary is between 40 - 51 £ per hour.

We are working closely with Sefton MBC to assist with the appointment of a Technical Officer, on a 13-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £19.36- £25.48 per hour.

The Technical Officer plays a key role in delivering an effective and customer-focused Home Improvement Service, supporting residents through the assessment, design, procurement, and delivery of housing adaptations, repairs, and improvement works. Working under the direction of the Principal Housing Improvement Officer, the post holder will undertake property inspections, technical surveys, design solutions, contract administration, and project monitoring to ensure works are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of a comprehensive Home Improvement Service for residents seeking grants, loans, and housing assistance.
  • Assess properties against relevant legislation and standards, including the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), Decent Homes Standard, Disabled Facilities Grant requirements, and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure adaptations comply with building regulations, accessibility standards, and client requirements.
  • Assess variations, certify payments, approve valuations, and recommend contractor payments in accordance with financial regulations.
  • Ensure all works comply with Building Regulations, Planning Regulations, Health and Safety requirements, and relevant housing legislation.
Qualifications:
  • HNC/HND in Building Construction, Building Surveying, Construction Management, Property Studies, or a related discipline.
Essentials:
  • Ability to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems for the preparation of plans and technical drawings.
  • Experience undertaking property inspections, technical surveys, and building assessments.
  • Experience preparing specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and producing technical reports.
