We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Basingstoke to assist with the appointment of a Corporate Health and Safety Advisor, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £25.24 - £33.47 per hour

Summary: The Corporate Health and Safety Adviser will provide expert health and safety advice and support to approximately 675 council staff and managers. The role will help ensure compliance with legislation and best practice while promoting a strong health and safety culture across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional health and safety advice to staff, managers and, where appropriate, elected Members.
  • Advise on health and safety legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Support and contribute to health and safety committees.
  • Review and ensure council policies and processes remain compliant with current legislation and best practice.
  • Provide health and safety training and guidance to staff and managers.
  • Undertake site inspections and support operational health and safety activities.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and current best practice.
  • Experience providing professional health and safety advice within an organisation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident advising staff and managers at all levels.
