Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Planning Officer, on a 6.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: Β£23.84 - Β£31.46 per hour
Summary:
A Planning Officer is required to support Barnet's Planning and Building Control service, contributing to the Council's objectives and delivering a high-quality, cost-effective service. The role offers opportunities to work across different planning specialisms through a rotation programme. This is a hybrid role, with fixed office attendance days and occasional travel outside the Borough.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the Planning and Building Control service.
- Lead on general areas of planning work.
- Work across different planning specialisms as part of the service rotation programme.
- Ensure work meets agreed quality and performance standards.
- Support the Council's aims, objectives and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Relevant planning qualification or equivalent experience, as required for the post.
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to manage and lead general planning work.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across different planning specialisms.
- Commitment to delivering a high-quality and cost-effective service.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement, attend the office on fixed days and travel when required.
