We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Solihull to assist with the appointment of an Assistant Manager, on a 3.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay:

Β£19.31 - Β£24.75 per hour

Summary:

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to support the management and delivery of high-quality day services for people with learning disabilities, older adults and people with physical disabilities. The successful candidate will deputise for the Service Manager, supervise Day Service Coordinators and oversee the management of support workers and service delivery. You will ensure services meet individual needs and outcomes while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, staff performance and service quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Service Manager and assume responsibility for management decision-making when required.
  • Supervise and develop Day Service Coordinators and Support Workers.
  • Ensure services meet the individual needs and desired outcomes of service users.
  • Carry out staff supervisions, appraisals, attendance monitoring and performance management.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessment procedures are maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience working in a day care or residential setting with people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, older adults with dementia or complex needs.
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of supporting and promoting the wellbeing and independence of working-age disabled adults or older people and their carers.
  • Experience supervising staff performance and supporting staff development through supervision and appraisal.
  • Experience dealing with difficult and highly sensitive situations.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
