We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Walsall to assist with the appointment of a Registered Building Inspector, on a 6‑month contract, highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
This role involves carrying out plan assessments and site inspections on domestic and commercial developments, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, and dealing with dangerous structures, demolitions and enforcement matters.
- Conduct Building Regulation plan assessments and site inspections up to Class 2F
- Assess residential and commercial developments for compliance
- Investigate dangerous structures and demolition notifications
- Manage enforcement and unauthorised building work cases
- Liaise with architects, contractors, developers, and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
Requirements:
- Registered Building Inspector (RBI) Class 2F with the Building Safety Regulator, or ability to demonstrate eligibility to operate at this level
- Significant Building Control experience within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector environment
- Experience carrying out plan checking and site inspections on both residential and commercial projects
- Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act legislation, dangerous structures, demolitions and enforcement procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
