The Hiab Driver / Electrician's Assistant will support the Street Lighting Electrician in the installation, maintenance and replacement of street lighting equipment and associated highway infrastructure across North Yorkshire. The role combines LGV Class 2 driving, HIAB operations, excavation, groundworks and electrical installation support. The majority of the role will involve physical excavation and reinstatement work rather than driving alone.
Responsibilities:
Drive LGV Class 2 vehicles and safely operate the HIAB / vehicle-mounted crane attachment.
Transport, load and unload plant, equipment, materials and street lighting components safely.
Carry out dynamic traffic management assessments and adapt site arrangements to changing risks and conditions.
Assess site plans against actual site conditions and use sound judgement to ensure safe digging and effective cable avoidance.
