We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client\’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

As a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer within the Refugee, Resettlement & Migration Service (RRMS), you will be pivotal in securing and sustaining appropriate accommodation for refugee and migrant families across West Sussex. You will work closely with internal teams, local authorities, estate agents, landlords, and the Home Office to support families transitioning into safe, long-term housing, reducing reliance on temporary accommodation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead in sourcing and securing suitable housing for refugee and migrant families.
  2. Undertake comprehensive affordability and subsistence assessments aligned with government guidance.
  3. Prevent homelessness through proactive case management and creative housing solutions.
  4. Collaborate with local authorities, legal advisors, and external agencies to remove housing barriers.
  5. Maintain and interpret sensitive housing and case-related data to drive planning and intervention.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in the housing sector or a degree in Property Management or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, welfare systems, and financial inclusion.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable families, especially in housing or homelessness prevention.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding practices and risk management in caseloads.
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively.
