We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Preston to assist with the appointment of a HGV Waste Collection Driver, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary

We are seeking experienced HGV Waste Collection Drivers to support refuse and recycling collection services. The role involves driving refuse collection vehicles, supervising small crews, operating collection equipment, and delivering domestic, recycling, bulky waste, and trade waste collections while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Drive refuse collection and recycling vehicles, including skip loaders
  • Operate automatic and manual refuse collection equipment
  • Lead and direct a small team of loaders/labourers during collection rounds
  • Carry out domestic, food, recycling, bulky waste, and trade waste collections
  • Move and empty wheeled bins, food caddies, and refuse sacks in all weather conditions
Essential Requirements
  • Valid HGV licence (Class 2 / Category C or equivalent)
  • Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Experience driving refuse collection or large commercial vehicles
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively within a team

You should be available to work immediately or at short notice. You should have right to work in U.K.
